Early Childhood Learning KinderStart Program

KinderStart is a transition to school program developed by the Department of Education’s Early Childhood Development-Kindergarten Working Group in 2002. It consists of a series of eight one-hour orientation sessions for children and their parents/caregivers in the year prior to Kindergarten entry. A KinderStart program guide has been provided to schools throughout the province along with activity resources for Kindergarten classrooms. During the first KinderStart session, children and their parents/caregivers will be provided with an activity resource bag and suggestions for home activities.
