The Minister responsible for Mines & Energy is also responsible, under legislation,
for two operationally independent organizations. The Minister is
solely responsible for the
Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro Corporation (Hydro) and shares
responsibility with the federal Minister of Natural Resources
Canada for the
Canada-Newfoundland Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NOPB).
The Minister is also responsible for the
Bull Arm Site
Corporation and for ensuring that all three organizations
comply with relevant requirements under government's
Accountability Framework for public entities.
