Mine Rehabilitation

The Engineering Analysis unit is responsible for:
Mining Act administration and inspecting former mining sites; development and implementation of programmes for monitoring mining operations, evaluation of new mining and processing methods, review and analysis of related policy.
Technical monitoring and analysis of mining in the province, providing sound technical information, assisting in the development of potential mining operations, and evaluating information from prospective and operating mines to ensure mineral resources are extracted in the best interests of both the operator and province.
Assisting the industry in the development, operation and termination of mining properties through technical advice and coordination of communication with other government agencies. Promoting private sector interest in mineral development by initiating programmes to provide basic information from which entrepreneurs may expand.
