Community/Support Bereavement Information

1. Grief Recovery Process Group: This group is for people who have lost a loved one through death and feel stalled in their grief. The sessions will be in the afternoons on a weekday. If you or someone you know may be interested in such a group then contact the Pastoral Care Office at 777-6959. The next group will likely start in late September.

2. Survivors of Suicide: This group is for people who have suffered the loss of loved one through suicide. Suicide is a unique loss with unique grief issues. If you or someone you know may be interested in this group call  777-6959. A series of group sessions is organized when we have enough people on our wait list.

3. Write and Share: This workshop is for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one and who would like to use journal-writing as a tool to help with the process of recovering from the loss.  You don't need to have any experience or special skill at writing: just a desire to put your thoughts and feelings on paper and explore them with a supportive group of others who have been through similar experiences.  This is not a writing class; rather, it's a support group that uses writing as a tool to help you grow through the experience of loss and grief.  The group will meet for two hours once a week over a six-week period.

4. Loss through Violence is a newly established community support group for people who have lost a loved one through a violent death.  If you know of anyone who may be interested in such a group, you can have them call me at 777-6959.
