Alternate Processing Facility
- In the unlikely event that the proposed hydromet process is not technologically or economically feasible, Inco will construct a commercial hydromet nickel matte processing facility or similar facility capable of producing a finished nickel
product.
- Annual production from this plant would be 110 million pounds.
- The company will notify government on the technical and economic viability of the hydromet concentrate processing facility by December 31, 2008.
- Capital costs of construction will be approximately $670 million.
- Employment during three year construction phase will be 2,500 person years.
- Employment during operation phase is 350 people.
