  • A state-of-the-art 1,470 metre airstrip will be constructed capable of landing a Dash 8(300) passenger plane. 
  • The airstrip will be equipped with navigational aids, automatic weather station, back-up power, de-icing facilities, and emergency fuel storage.
  • 4-6 flights will land and take off from Voisey’s Bay each week.

  • 3-6 ships per month will transport concentrate.
  • The dock will have a 140 metre long berthing face with a minimum draft of 13.5 metres.
  • Construction of temporary port facilities will begin in 2002.

  • Accommodations will provide living quarters for 350 personnel on an alternate shift basis.
  • Employees and machinery will move around the site via approximately 44 kilometres of road.
  • Road construction will begin in 2002.
