The Wheels of Power and Control and Equality

Power and Control Wheel
The Power and Control Wheel is frequently used by those who work with victims of domestic violence to demonstrate how power and control issues are at the core of abusive behaviors and to illustrate and describe the different dimensions of abuse and violence. The Power and Control Wheel can be used in many different types of relationships, still all are based on the premise that the person who abuses is exerting power and control over her/his victim.

Equality Wheel
The Equality Wheel lists the concepts in relationships that promote respect, equality and demonstrate appropriate ways of interacting in healthy relationships and ways that people who abuse can now choose to act nonviolently.
